Why One Game Per Day
Diamond Legend paces its default mode to one game per real-world day. Here's the philosophy behind slow-sim baseball.
Diamond Legend has three sim buttons — Sim Day, Sim Week, Sim Season — but the default beat is one game per real day. You open the app, check the front-office briefing, deal with anything urgent, and hit Sim Day. That's the intended rhythm.
The case for slow sim
Fast-sim franchise games are fun for a weekend and forgettable after. When you burn through a season in an hour, individual games don't matter. Injuries feel like paperwork. A close pennant race is just a line on a chart.
Slow sim inverts the priority. You spend real days sitting on a decision — whether to promote your AAA closer, whether to make the trade, whether to option the struggling starter. When you finally do it, the move means something because you thought about it for a week.
We built the engine both ways
Not everyone wants slow sim. Some players want to blitz five seasons on a Saturday to test a rebuild plan. So the engine supports Sim Week and Sim Season for exactly that. Both respect the same pause conditions: major injuries, roster violations, playoff clinches. You never accidentally sim past something important.
The daily briefing
The dashboard is designed around the slow-sim beat. When you open the app you see:
- Today's front-office briefing (injuries, offers, roster alerts)
- The last game's line
- Recent transactions across the league
- Mini standings with your rank
Everything you need to decide "Sim Day, or handle something first?" is on that first screen. If nothing needs your attention, one tap and you're done for the day.
What happens in 25 seasons
Play the default beat and 25 seasons takes about 12 real months. Along the way you'll see three or four generational players rise through your farm, a couple of near-championships, one or two rebuilds, and — if you're patient — a dynasty.
That's the pitch. Franchise mode as a year-long habit, not a weekend binge.
