Trades are validated against your payroll budget, roster limits, and contract structure. You can't get around a bad situation by dumping salary on the AI without giving up something real — and the AI can't do it to you.
Free-agent bidding
Free agents evaluate offers based on money, years, team competitiveness, and role fit. Overpay for a fading star and you'll be stuck. Nail a below-market signing and the rest of the league notices.
Mid-season signings
The free-agent market stays live all season. When a rival releases a useful veteran, you can pounce. Injuries change the market weekly.
