The Diamond Ledger
League News
Every Diamond Legend franchise generates its own newspaper — daily headlines drawn from the games you play. Game recaps, hot streaks, injuries, playoff races, and front-office moves are written on the fly from your team's real season.
Start a franchise to see your team's front page.
What appears in the feed
- Game recaps — one-run nail-biters, blowouts, walk-offs.
- Standings watch — who's atop the league, who's chasing a wild card.
- Streak coverage — winning streaks and slumps.
- Injury reports — who's on the IL and for how long.
- Star watch — the player carrying your club by WAR.
- Front office — cash crunches, war chests, hot-stove flavor.
- Postseason — playoff previews and offseason updates.
How the headlines are written
Nothing in the feed is pre-written filler. Each headline is generated from the actual state of your franchise on that in-game day: the box score of the game that just finished, the current standings, active injuries, your payroll position, and the rolling form of individual players. If your closer blew a save in the ninth, the story on the front page is about the closer blowing a save in the ninth.
Because the source is your real season data, the newspaper doubles as a summary tool. Players who fast-simulate a week at a time use the feed to catch up on what happened without reading seven individual box scores — the streaks, the injuries, and the standings movement are all surfaced in the order the game thinks matters most.
Coverage tone shifts with results. A four-game winning streak in September while you are chasing a wild card reads differently than the same streak in May, and a front-office story about a cash crunch only appears when your finances are actually tight. Over a full 25-season dynasty the accumulated feed becomes an informal history of the franchise.
Where it fits in the daily loop
Diamond Legend is designed around one in-game day per real-world day. The newspaper is the intended first stop in that routine: read the front page, notice the injury or the slump it flags, act on it in the roster and lineup screens, then simulate. The How to Play guide covers that loop in full, and the strategy guides explain how to act on what the feed tells you.
